The N20 Cork to Mallow Road was reduced to one lane yesterday (Tuesday) morning after an articulated lorry is reported to have been involved in an accident and overturned.

As a result, a one-lane system was put in place, causing delays to the north of Blarney.

It is understood that the driver of the truck was treated by ambulance personnel after he received minor injuries in the accident.

Hundreds of chickens are understood to have been in the truck when the accident happened, with some dying as a result.

Deer in Wicklow

Meanwhile, deer caused delays in Wicklow yesterday morning after they made their way on to the N11 Wexford-Dublin road at junction 13, Newcastle.

Gardaí were dealing with the incident and the deer were cleared from the road before 12.30pm.
