The Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) has confirmed an attendance of 115,000 at last week’s Balmoral Show.
The extended show was held over four days this year seeing attendance drop by an estimated 10% over the first three days with the additional day on Saturday allowing overall numbers to reach a record high.
Efforts by RUAS to limit traffic congestion in the car park and roads around the Balmoral Park site also worked, with no significant issues reported this year. Translink have also said that more people travelled to the show via public transport this year.

The extended show did meet a mixed reaction from livestock and trade exhibitors who were required to remain at the show until Saturday evening.
However, RUAS operations director Rhonda Geary said that the organisation was pleased with this year’s event.
“The fourth day went brilliantly and the Balmoral buzz was certainly there. Plans are already well in place for our 150th Balmoral Show which will be held from 16-19 May 2018,” she said.
