Rain will spread from the south-west to the rest of Ireland this morning (Friday), with the heaviest showers along the east and south coast. The rain will pass over the south and west by nightfall but will continue strongest in the north east of Ireland. Despite the rain it will be a mild day with fresh south-easterly winds. Tonight will be blustery with plenty of scattered rains.

Saturday

Saturday will be a mainly dry day with few showers throughout the north side of the country. South-westerly winds will feel cold but overall it will be a mild day with sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures than before. As night falls, temperatures will drop to 0 degrees and patches of ice will develop across the midlands.

Sunday

Another mainly dry day. There will be a few showers across the northwest of the country. Highest temperatures will be between 6-9 degrees along with a light north-westerly breeze. Sunny spells will prevail throughout most of the day with the occasional cloudy sky. As the day goes on, it will become cooler across the country with widespread frost and very low temperatures.

Monday

Monday morning will be dry with rain forecast across the country until nightfall. A light northerly breeze will further drop already cold temperatures of 5-8 degrees. As night comes, a heavy band of rain will approach the country from the west and will hit most costal north-westerly countries. Frost may develop again as it will be another cold night.

Tuesday will be mainly a dry and sunny day. Showers may develop from the west and spread across the north of the country. Light easterly breezes predicted. Temperatures will be low and frosty.
