Basic Payment Scheme

In line with regulatory requirements, it is expected that advance payments under the BPS will begin to issue from 16 October 2017, according to the Department of Agriculture.

This is the earliest date possible under the relevant EU regulations.

GLAS

For farmers in GLAS, it is anticipated that for all three tranches of GLAS 2017 payments will commence after 16 October 2017, and when all the required administrative checks for GLAS are completed.

Balancing payments are to issue when the required on-the-spot checks have been completed.

Knowledge Transfer Programme (KT)

In accordance with the Farmers Charter of Rights, payments to participants in the Knowledge Transfer (KT) Programme are expected to issue within three months of the end of the scheme year of 31 July 2017.

Beef Data and Genomics Programme

Payments in respect of 2017 BDGP will commence in December, the Department has said.

Sheep Welfare Scheme

For sheep farmers registered in the Sheep Welfare Scheme, it is expected that advance payments will issue under the scheme in late autumn.

Weather Related Crop Loss Support Measure

The deadline for applications from tillage farmers to the weather-related crop loss support measure is 25 August.

A Department spokesperson has said: “Once all applications have been received, payments will issue following the completion of the required verification checks which are required to be carried out.”
