St Patrick's Day Festival of Irish produce to be launched in Luxembourg
A delegation from the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine will be in Luxembourg tomorrow to help launch the St Patrick’s Day Festival of Irish produce.
The main attraction of the festival from an Irish perspective is that it will give priority space to Irish produce at Auchan, a large supermarket chain in Luxembourg.
Committee Chairman Andrew Doyle TD is leading the delegation and is being accompanied by Deputy Michael McNamara TD.
Deputy Doyle is looking forward to assisting in the launch of the promotion for Irish produce.

“Ireland’s agricultural produce is among the finest in the world and is one of the cornerstones of our high performing export sector," he commented.
"So it will be a particular privilege for the Committee to assist in the launch of a high-profile promotion of Irish food in Auchan, one of Luxembourg’s largest supermarkets. In the run-up to St. Patrick’s Day they are giving priority space to, and offering specials on, Irish products."
Last month the government published the list of 27 destinations to which 27 ministers will be flying on St Patrick's Day this year. Minister for Agriculture and Defence Simon Coveney will be flying to Italy as part of the official tour. This will be the first time Coveney has travelled to Italy for the day's celebrations.
