The farmer, who does not want to be named, said he is “shockingly disappointed” having learned of the thefts.

“I can’t believe it has happened at all to be honest. It’s a low act to take another man’s tractor.”

Fencing pulled down

“I went to the mart in Killmallock at around 11am on Monday and then had to get the car fixed in the garage after that, so it was about 7pm when I got back,” he said.

“I know there’s fair time gap there but it might jog the memory of someone if they noticed it at the time.

“I have big 28ft gates into the yard and a bit of a pass that runs up along it and I noticed that the fencing or barrier had been pulled down a bit when I got back.

“I’m hoping by talking to the Irish Farmers Journal it might highlight it a bit,” he added.

Gardaí in Millstreet are investigating and anyone with information is encouraged to contact them on 029-70002.
