The two New Holland tractors and Redrock low loader were recovered on Friday morning following a planned search at a property in the Derrylin road area of Enniskillen.

A 59-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of handling stolen goods but was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

“Rural and agricultural crime is a serious issue and we are very conscious of the impact crime can have on farmers, their families, farm workers, businesses and the wider rural community and we will do everything we can to disrupt those who target farmers and others in the countryside,” operation chief inspector Clive Beatty commented afterwards.

He added that agricultural crime can affect jobs, the economy and the environment as well as the direct victims of the crime.

“I would therefore ask for assistance from the public in providing information that may support us in continuing to prevent crime and arresting those individuals or gangs that carry out offences within rural communities,” chief inspector Beatty said.

Last week, a Fermanagh farmer announced that a reward of an undisclosed amount was being offered for information that leads to recovery of John Deere tractor that was stolen from his farm earlier this month.
