Heifers of all weights were in high demand with strong farmer activity at the ringside.

A couple of the more notable heifers included an October born Charolais weighing 276kg which made €765 (€2.77/kg) and another Charolais heifer born in April 2014 weighing 348kg made €925 (€2.66/kg).

Shippers and feedlot buyers were the most active at the bull trade. There was also a good scattering of Northern Ireland buyers who were there to take advantage of the euro/sterling differential. Prices appeared to be back slightly on previous weeks but quality bull garnered good interest and performed well.

A June 2014 Charolais bull weighing 375kg made €1,075 (€2.86/kg), a 390kg Blonde d'Aquitaine born in July 2014 sold for €795 (€2.03/kg) while a June born Limousin weighing 330kg sold for €820 (2.48/kg).
