Lemken and TFM hosted a successful open day last Thursday 15 March. This was the second attempt to run the event as the beast from the east forced it to be postponed for a week.

On the day, conditions didn’t allow for the machines to be put to the test in the field but a serious collection of John Deere and Lemken gear was on static display at Tinryland GAA Club in Carlow. Experts from both brands were on hand to discuss the equipment and answer any questions which current and prospective owners had.

Demo tour

There was some serious kit on show such as the GPS-controlled turn control plough (TCP), which will be going on a demo tour over the next few weeks. Also on the stand were the latest tractors from John Deere including the impressive 6250R and the flagship 7R model, the 7310R. The 6250R was hooked to a 4m Isobus solitair 9 with section control and variable seed rate capability.

Derek Delahunty of Lemken Ireland said that despite the fact the weather had changed the plan for the day, there were still some good conversations with potential clients and the day had been a resounding success for all involved.
