A new year brings with it new beginnings. If you are looking for a new career, look no further than the Irish Farmers Journal’s inaugural Agri Careers fair, which takes place on 3 March in the RDS. This fair will bring employers in the agri-industry together under the one roof so they can meet those interested in working in the sector and fill roles in their companies.

Those on various steps of the career ladder will find something for them at this fair. Whether you’re in college and just beginning to think about the world of work, a graduate, or someone who is already working but looking for a new job – there will be something for all of you on the day.

Various skillsets required

While there will be roles for those with experience and qualifications in ag science specifically, there will also be jobs for those with expertise in very different sectors – such as accountancy, IT, HR and marketing, as these skills are also required in agri companies.

Many of the real-life jobs available on the day will be rurally based, which is very good news for the many workers based in Dublin who want to relocate due to house prices in the capital. This is your first (and hopefully last) point of contact for that dream career down the country.

Parents and second-level students, as well as those who want to upskill in the areas of agriculture and ag science, are also invited as colleges will be present on the day to discuss their courses.

The day will begin with a business breakfast briefing for exhibitors and will be followed by inspiring and well-known speakers taking to the main stage to relay their expertise and advice as well as telling their own career story.
