Relief has finally reached the people of Aughinish, Co Mayo, where we featured the flooding early in the year. Mayo Co Co has moved in in recent weeks and has nearly completed the raising of the road by almost a metre in many places, thanks to the Irish Farmers Journal, which carried the story first.
Some 13 houses were left marooned by the floods in 2015 and 2016. It’s great to see these people have had relief.
