The Singing Nurse, Mary Prendergast, has just released a new album. Cherished Moments is the title of this 12-track collection which also features six instrumentals on the accordion. Mary spent many years nursing in Ardkeen Hospital in Waterford and plays the social dancing circuit with her band, Country Highways. The title track was written by Mary with her family in mind.
“It is a reflection on how quickly life moves on and the journey stretches out. Another song, A Mother’s Love So Pure, is a co-write with Waterford man Liam Merriman. This is dedicated to my dear mother Josephine Kenny and the wonderful memories she has left me,” says Mary.
The album includes two Isla Grant songs, Partners In Rhyme and Mother’s Chair, as well as The Rambling House and Paper Roses.
