Following Aurivo’s decision to close its four marts last week, the co-op has confirmed that Balla, Ballinrobe and Ballymote marts will reopen for business this week.

Mohill Mart will reopen on Wednesday 25 April.

A spokesperson for Aurivo said that new health and safety procedures will be operational.

From now on, only mart staff will be allowed in the sales yard and new rules will apply in relation to customer access to various areas of the mart.

Balla Mart will reopen for business on Saturday 21 April for bullock, heifer and cow sales and it will open on 23 April for weanling sales.

Pre-booking will take place as usual on Wednesday 18 April at 9.30am for bullocks and heifers and at 11am for cows. Weanlings will be booked on Thursday 19 at 9.30am. Balla Mart will no longer be selling weanling bulls through the bullocks sale.

No cattle will be accepted after 12pm.
