This week Glanbia, Lakeland Dairies and Kerry all held their March milk prices.

Glanbia will pay member suppliers 29.3c/l (excluding VAT) for March, while Lakeland will pay 29.7c/l (excluding VAT). Kerry will pay suppliers 29.3c/l (excluding VAT) for March milk.

This is the first significant milk cheque for spring-calving dairy farmers this year.

Henry Corbally, chair of Glanbia, said that global supply remains strong, but there is continued uncertainty in the markets.

“Supply and demand remain delicately balanced based on current global supply indications,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Ornua purchase price index (PPI) remains steady with the PPI for March standing at 105.3 percentage points down from 105.4 in February.
