Auctioneer Eamon O’Brien, CCM Property Network, Mitchelstown, conducted one of the first public auction of the new year comprising a 32.5-acre non-residential parcel of land at Glenacunna & Gorteeshal, Ballyporeen, Co Tipperary.

At the auction, Eamon offered the property in two separate lots that included a 25-acre parcel which later sold under the hammer for €195,000 to a young man who had returned home from Australia.

Meanwhile, the remaining 7.5 acres was snapped up for €94,000 by a solicitor acting in trust. This gave a combined total of €289,000 or an average of almost €8,900/acre.

Elsewhere, Eamon concluded the sale of two other parcels of land which only went to the market in December by private treaty.

It’s understood that a 15-acre situated near Castletownroche made in the region of the €11,000/acre guide price, while a 52-acre farm in the Tallow area, Co Waterford, also sold in a private deal for a figure thought to be close to the €8,000 to €8,500/acre guide price.
