The grants range in value from €4,000 to €25,000 and can cover up to 75% of the cost of the works.
Grants are awarded in order of importance and priority, and around 50 to 70 projects will be supported annually.
The previous scheme, known as REPS4, helped to restore over 350 buildings across Ireland and discovered over 140 unknown roosts of protected birds and bat species.
The scheme is jointly funded by the Department of Agriculture and the EU, but administered by the Heritage Council on behalf of the Department.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 18 November.
