The incident occurred at around 5 o’clock on Thursday evening.
The Deutz-Fahr tractor was pulling an empty low loader type trailer at the time of the incident. The barriers were completely destroyed, according to Irish Rail.

Iarnród Éireann announced on Twitter that delays of more than 60 minutes to the service were experienced because of the incident.
The incident has since been rectified.
While it was first reported that the Connolly/Sligo service would return to Connolly station due to the incident, the rail service since confirmed that the train would continue as per normal.
Maynooth/Sligo services are back operating with delays of 30 minutes, Iarnród Éireann confirmed on Twitter.
