Truly Irish Country Foods has secured a listing in 60 Tesco Ireland stores for Truly Irish Creamery Butter. Established in 2008, the farmer-owned business supports over 8,000 jobs and was setup by pig producers throughout the island of Ireland. The Truly Irish Butter brand is a natural product produced by traditional churning.

Commenting on the new listing, Mike McAuliffe CEO of Truly Irish said, “We are absolutely delighted that that Truly Irish premium natural butter will be available in 60 Tesco stores throughout Ireland. The launch of our Truly Irish Butter product was a natural progression for the company as some of our farmer shareholders are also dairy and beef producers. We hope to expand our range over time while standing by our motto to ‘absolutely refuse to compromise quality for profit’. We’re hoping to grow our business with Tesco and in time look to supply Tesco stores in the UK which would be a real game changer for our business.”

Tesco supporting Irish business

Tesco Ireland recently launched a comprehensive report, conducted by independent international economists Indecon, into Tesco Ireland’s impact on the Irish economy.

The report’s key findings demonstrate that Tesco is the world’s biggest buyer of Irish food and drink and is responsible for nearly 47,000 jobs, employing 14,500 people directly in 149 stores, head office and depot and supporting a further 32,180 jobs in its supply chain.

The report confirmed that Tesco now works with over 480 small and medium Irish local suppliers and over 13,000 Irish farm families supply their produce to Tesco.
