However, there is a risk that the northern half of the country will see rain at time on Tuesday.

Overall, it will be a mainly dry but breezy day. There will be a mix of cloud and bright or sunny spells. The best of the sunshine and the highest temperatures will be across Leinster and east Munster.

For those in the south and southeast, temperatures will reach as high as 15°C. For everywhere else, temperatures will not creep much above 11°C.

On farms

The dry and settled weather has seen an early start to the silage season, with contractors taking out strong pasture and paddocks.

While it has been colder than normal in the past couple of days, grass growth has been strong.
