Project 4:

Succulent and cacti pots

Old containers eg teacups, tins or vintage cans (if you’re using an old tin, check it first by placing water in the container. If it doesn’t leak, then it is good to use!)

Small cacti or succulents

Medium-size rocks, smaller rocks and soil

1. Clean out the items you are using as pots.

2. Firstly place the medium-size rocks at the end of the container, followed by the smaller rocks and then the soil.

3. Take the plant (cactus or succulent) out of its plastic pot and loosen the soil around the root and place into the container. Pat in the soil to hold the plant in place.

4. Clean off any excess soil on your plant by brushing it off with a dry paintbrush.

5. To add a little extra element: draw a little picture on a piece of card, colour it in and cut it out. Place on a chicken skewer and pop into the side of your container for a personal touch!
