November tractor registration figures show a significant upsurge in imports of used tractors as farmers and contractors look across the Irish Sea to seek out value with the low sterling currency value.

The figures from the Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) statistics service show that 38 new tractors were registered in November while a massive 246 used tractor registrations were recorded. The used tractor figure for the month is more than double the figure for November 2015 and for first time it sees total used tractor imports for the 11 months of this year at 1,869, creep marginally ahead of the new tractor market, which is now 1,859 units.
