A timelapse video of silage cutting in Co Kerry that has clocked up nearly half a million views on YouTube has been given a new lease of life in this year's video, filmed by Pádraig Ó Dubhaigh.
Last year the Irish Farmers Journal featured the first timelapse video of silage cutting in Co Kerry. The video was filmed by Pádraig Ó Dubhaigh who is originally from Meath, but now lives at Gortacurrane, Annascaul, Co Kerry.
At the end of May last year Ó Dubhaigh filmed his neighbour Stephen Galvin, who lives across the valley from him, cutting silage. Although the silage cutting took three hours in real time, Ó Dubhaigh's speeded up version, filmed with a tripod camera, captures it in just over three and a half minutes.
Now, after reaching nearly 500,000 views on that video, Ó Dubhaigh has filmed this year's silage cutting, this time condensing three hours or more of work into five timelapsed minutes, with a little twist at thrown into the mix.
