Milk supplies to the end of June continue to surge well ahead of quota.

The majority of the co-ops report that they are between 6% and 11% over quota to the end of June.

A combination of strong grass growth, sunshine and rain is pushing June milk supplies 5% to 10% up on June 2013.

The strong June milk supplies follow on from the very strong April and May supplies.

Co-op report

Glanbia reports it is 6.2% or 30.5m litres over quota as of 30 June. Premier is 5.5% over quota to the end of June. Glanbia milk supplies for June are running 5% ahead of 2013. Dairygold reports milk supplies for June finished about 2.5% over quota.

On the western seaboard, Aurivo reports it is about 5% over quota, while Kerry reports it is about 9m litres or about 2.5% over quota.

Lakeland reports milk supplies for June 2014 are up 5% and on average, over the last three years, they are about 6.5% over quota to the end of June.

Town of Monaghan estimates supplies at the end of June are 4% up compared to last year and the co-op will be about 1% over quota for the end of June.

Arrabawn estimates it is about 5% up on June 2013 and, by the end of June, will be about 11% over quota. Barryroe reports it is 2% up on June last year and is about 8% over quota. The other west Cork co-op, Drinagh, reports it is 5% up on June 2013 and is about 8% over quota to the end of June.

Lisavaird reports that it is 6.4% up for June and will be about 8% over quota for the end of June.

In Tipperary, Centenary Thurles report they are 8.8% over quota to the end of June. Tipperary Co-op report June milk is up 4% compared to last year and the first quarter of the quota year is up 11% on last year.
