The National Ploughing Association Innovation Arena is the perfect place to launch new innovations and this year, Irish Farmers Journal readers can vote for their favourite innovation in the People’s Choice category.

The NPA Innovation Arena puts inventions from Ireland on show to the world and helps establish their success by introducing them to the marketplace and facilitating networks that will help them take steps towards achieving commercial success.

In the build-up to this year’s Ploughing championships, each day we profile four of the innovators.

The Easy Arm allows the farmer collect a bale, lift and move a ring feeder in the field while feeding. There is a curved piece on the back of the arm to stabilise the ring feeder when lifted. It can be removed from a bale handler by the removal of two pins.

It is money saving, time saving, helps to prevent back injuries, doesn't damage ring feeders and prevents ground compaction.

Bull Match

The Bull Match app genetically matches cows with bulls to find the ideal genetic match to produce a calf of the required standard. It is a one of a kind and will change breeding strategies on farms across Ireland and the world.

It allows the farmer to pre-plan breeding with a known outcome. It will let the farmer produce a more valuable animal, it will increase farm revenues and decrease the time spent on breeding strategies. It secures EU payments and relieves stress and worry for farm families.
