Two agri-food businesses have been placed on the national sites for enforcement list by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Arrow Group, based in Kildare, was added to the list due to odour and noise issues, while Tipperary Co-operative Creamery Limited did not meet the required emissions on water standards.

It is a new entry for the co-op for this time period.

Arrow Group Limited includes the activities of Dawn Farm Foods Ltd, TCFG Naas Ltd (also known as The Culinary Food Group), QK Coldstores Ltd, Dawn Farms Distribution Ltd and Maudlins Waste Management Ltd at this site.

Seven sites

There were seven sites in total that have been placed on the list between March and September. All of these companies face further enforcement action to ensure that they secure compliance.

“The latest list includes four sites which have not previously appeared on the national priority site in the last publication and, once again, includes Arrow Group.

"While the publication of the national priority sites list has continued to drive environmental compliance and much needed investment, the EPA continues to have concerns that environmental issues at some companies have resulted in unacceptable odour, noise, air and water quality impacts,” said EPA programme manager at the office of environmental enforcement Darragh Page.

Taken off the list

Two sites have been taken of the list - Kepak Clonee, Meath; and Quinn Cement Limited, Cavan.
