A number of items were stolen from a farm in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, in the early hours of Monday 4 November, sometime after 3.15am.

The items stolen included 150 Bovigen vaccines, approximately 60 pigtail posts, Heiniger clippers and silage tape.

The stolen items are worth an estimated €2,000.

The owner lives off-farm, but he told Irish Farmers Journal that the entrance gate was closed when he left the farm on Sunday evening, he noticed that it was open upon his return on Monday morning.

A Bagenalstown garda spokesperson said: “This is the first incident of this nature that we’ve had in the area.”
