Over 1,600 farmers who applied for grant aid funding from TAMS between 11 January 2020 and 5 June 2020 will face a delay in receiving approval.
Due to a surge in demand, the Department of Agriculture has confirmed that 30% of applications to tranche 17 will be rolled over into tranche 18 which closes on 21 August.
A total of 4,953 farmers applied to tranche 17 which was extended due to the coronavirus. A further 648 applications from the previous tranche were also included bringing the total number to 5,601.

On the payment front, over €221m has been paid out to date with €1.4m issuing weekly
Investments sought by these farmers have a total value of €77.8m.
Due to the volume of applications, the Department will roll over the lowest scoring 30% after a ranking and selection process, rather than the usual 20%. These 1,680 farmers will again be ranked and considered once the current tranche closes later this month.
On the payment front, over €221m has been paid out to date with €1.4m issuing weekly. There are 6,000 farmers with approval who have yet to submit a payment claim.
