Gardaí investigating the crime arrested the man in County Donegal on Thursday 1 October and he was released later that day.
Gardaí said on Friday morning that the investigation is still ongoing into the theft of 75 cattle and 25 sheep during the night between 24 and 25 June in Cornaher, between Kilbeggan and Tyrrellspass. The estimated value of the animals is in excess of €100,000.
