The IFA executive council meeting on Wednesday 25 November will hear a letter written by the Mayo county executive. In a meeting held after the 9pm news on RTÉ One on 23 November, members agreed that they want current leaders of the IFA to step down.
”There was a consensus among farmers that the people who received the letter from Con Lucey should resign,” said Padraic Joyce, Mayo IFA county chair.
“The letter was read out at the county executive last night and everyone agreed that it should have been acted on by those who received it.”

While Mayo IFA has not put forward any motions of no confidence, it has written a letter to the executive council detailing its concerns.
“The resolution will be going to council tomorrow,” said Joyce. “The first letter was sent on 18 August 2014 and we are asking for the present people, who were aware of the contents and didn’t act on it, to resign.”
