After a cold and wintry weekend in parts of the country, Met Éireann is forecasting that temperatures will remain low in most areas over the next few days.
Today (Monday) is set to be a cool, bright day, but showers, some heavy and thundery, will become widespread during the afternoon. There will also be the risk of hail in Ulster and Connacht.
The first line of showers will clear the southeast early this afternoon, and some drier weather will develop before a second band of showers develops later in the afternoon in the northwest.
Temperatures will be lower than previous days at only 7C to 10C.
