Dairygold has increased its milk price by 1c/l for September to pay a price of 26c/l including a quality bonus of 0.5c/l and VAT.

The co-op’s new base price excluding bonuses and VAT is therefore 24.2c/l.

Dairygold had previously increased its price by 1c/l for August milk and 1.5c/l for July milk.

Lisavaird and Drinagh have also dediced to implement the 1c/l increase recommended by the Carbery group of west Cork coops week.

Last week, Glanbia increased its September price by 2c/l, while Lakeland decided a 1c/l increase.

On Monday, the board of Aurivo also increased its September price by 1c/l/

The New Zealand-based Global Dairy Trade auction platform recorded a 1.4% increase in commodities traded this Tuesday.

Ornua’s Purchase Price Index, meanwhile, has recovered the ground lost since June 2015.
