There was a large entry of cattle at the weekly sale in Enniskillen this week, with almost 1,000 animals brought forward for sale.

There were buyers for all classes of stock, with several new buyers present. The trade on the day was exceptional.

Heavy bullocks weighing 550kg to 650kg sold at a general price range of £2/kg to £2.40/kg. Mid-weight bullocks sold from £2.10/kg to £2.70/kg, with a top price of £1,110 for a 406kg Charolais animal.

Lighter animals sold from £2.20/kg to £2.70/kg, with a top price of £970 for a 352kg Charolais animal. Store heifers sold from £1.90/kg to £2.47/kg, with a top price of £1,395 for a 650kg Charolais animal.

Reared calves sold to £550 (twice) for Charolais-bred animals, with Limousin heifers selling to £480. Blue calves sold to £485. Younger calves sold to £360 for a Shorthorn heifer, while Friesian calves sold to £80.

Suckler cows sold to £1,550 for an Angus cow with bull calf.
