The Tullamore Agricultural and National Livestock Show is taking place on Sunday 11 August on the grounds at Butterfield Estate, Blueball, Tullamore, Co Offaly.

Each year, the event attracts upwards of 60,000 visitors and approximately 20,000 vehicles.

A Garda traffic plan has been put in place to reduce delays in the area.

The showgrounds is approximately 7km from Tullamore town.

Gardaí have issued advice to motorists that delays in the area can be expected all day and that diversions will be in place.

Four car parks

Free car parking is provided adjacent to the show grounds and motorists will be directed along four dedicated routes to each of the four car parks.

  • Green car park – available to north/northeast traffic, diverted via the Tullamore by-pass to the Birr Road.
  • Yellow car park - available to west/northwest traffic, diverted off the M6 via Clara, Coolnahiley and Rahan.
  • Blue car park – available to south/southeast traffic, diverted at Killeigh village towards the showgrounds.
  • Red car park – available to south/southwest traffic, diverted left at Blueball towards the showgrounds.

    A reversible one-way traffic system will be operation around the showgrounds at peak times.

    No parking will be permitted on the diversion routes or roads in the precinct of the Butterfield Estate.

    Exhibitors

    Signs will be available around the grounds, with exhibitors asked to arrive before 9.30am to avoid delays.

    After this time, the exhibitor route will close and use of the regular car parking facilities will be available.

    Livestock, including horses, will gain access to the site via the closed section of the N52. Please follow signs for livestock.

    Disabled parking

    A disabled car park is provided on site; vehicles will be directed by the organisers.

    This car park will also accommodate elderly or infirm patrons.

    All persons wishing to avail of disabled parking should follow signage for 'livestock entrance' on the Great Wood Road.
