More than 110 top-quality heifers went under the hammer in Saturday's sale at Elphin Mart in Co Roscommon.
McEnaney Livestock presented the heifers for sale, having sourced them from top sales across Ireland over the past year.
The trade topped at €13,500 and on more than one occasion.

First to hit that mark was a 665kg Limousin-cross heifer.
The animal was sired by Elite Pedigree Genetics show calf producer Ballinloan Jaegerbomb. The hammer fell to confirm well-known local man Richard O’Dowd as the buyer.
Next to reach €13,500 was one of the sale stand-outs, the 2024 Tullamore Show Kepak Beef Animal of the Future winner.
This in-calf heifer is carrying to sexed Loyal, with the sire once again coming from Elite Pedigree Genetics stud. This Treuman Idol heifer sold to a Co Cavan buyer.
Next to sell for a five-figure sum was a Ballinclare Jackpot-sired in-calf heifer carrying to an EBY stock bull. The hammer fell at €10,200 for this heifer.
After those three heifers sold for five-figure sums, a further two crossed €9,000, with six heifers selling for over €8,000.
During the day's trading, 10 heifers sold for between €7,000 and €8,000, with 17 heifers selling at between €6,000 and €7,000.
The standout figure was that over 60 heifers in total sold for over €5,000, highlighting the quality that was on offer.
Electric
Mart manager Ciarán Lynch described the sale as electric.
“There were buyers from all over Ireland trying to buy heifers.
“We sold heifers from Cork to Donegal and Galway to Dublin,” he said, adding that over 30 heifers sold to Northern Ireland customers. There was also no shortage of “local farmers getting their hands on stock".
“The quality of heifers was exceptional and there was some serious power in the in-calf heifers, with particular demand for these.”
