Huskey (72%) and WPB Enya (28%) take up the winter oat seed area in certification for next season. WPB Isabel has left both the winter and spring oat seed area.
Jacky, KWS Titan and Scotty are potential varieties for winter oats in the coming seasons.
For spring oats, Husky takes up 61% of the seed area, while WPB Enya has 37% and Jacky has 2%. Scotty is first for yield, the Department did not report crown rust in trials. Quality may not be up with other varieties.
Husky and WPB Enya are similar on KPH and kernel content. Husky has a lower thousand grain weight. WPB Enya is slightly ahead on crown rust resistance. Husky is a much earlier ripener, with a score of eight.
