Here’s one if you’re looking for a fun day out with friends or a cool work party - Wicklow Wolf brewery has officially opened its new taproom to the general public.

Based in its Newtownmountkennedy brewery in Co Wicklow, the new Wicklow Wolf taproom comprises a lounge area, a tasting room, an outdoor seating area and a mezzanine level, which provides a birdseye view of the brewery floor beneath.

Visitors can sit back, relax and watch a virtual self-guided tour before sampling one (or more!) of Wicklow Wolf’s refreshing beers.

Beer drinkers can enjoy their favourite Wicklow Wolf beverage straight from the source by the glass or pint, but there is also the option to take away your pint to enjoy within the comfort of your own home.

Wicklow Wolf offers one- and two-litre growler fills of any beer it has on tap and all you have to do is return it when you’re finished for a refill of your favourite core or limited edition beer.

Wicklow Wolf taproom, which launched in spring 2022.

One of Wicklow Wolf’s new beers which you can find at the taproom is Tundra, a New England-style IPA.

At 5.6% ABV, Tundra is dry-hopped with a huge amount of tropical hops. Think bursts of flavours such as grapefruit, pineapple and mango for this hazy IPA, with a creamy mouth feel with low bitterness allowing the hops to shine through.

Food options

For those looking to make a day of it, Firehouse Bakery is on hand to supply pizzas and pastries, as well as fresh coffee.

Visitors to the taproom can also take in the Hop Garden, which is the newest addition to Wicklow Wolf’s Hop Farm.

They are currently growing three varieties of hops at the brewery - Northdown, Northern Brewer and Phoenix - and these hops are harvested as part of their Locavore Winter release every year.
