Kilmallock was the host of the third and final spring sale of the Irish Angus Munster Branch. Clearance rates continue to grow, with this third sale seeing 86% of the bulls forward changing hands. This accounted for 25 bulls which sold to average €2,350.
Mitchelstown breeder Pat O’Donnell was judge on the day and he found his overall champion in the form of Tubridmore Noble Nathan from Denis Twomey, Causeway, Co Kerry.
This five-star bull carried a wealth of breeding in his pedigree. Sired by Rawburn Boss Hogg, he is out of multi championship winning Luddenmore Rosa Erica. This stylish bull was knocked down at €3,200.

After two consecutive championship wins at the previous two sales, Martin Hehir was again in form to secure the reserve championship with Killernan Padraig. This March 2017-born bull was sired by Shadwell Jaffer Eric and was secured with a bid of €2,500.
Top price of the day went to Greenvalley Pharly from the herd of Pat Carmody, Ballybunion. Pharly, who won his class in the presale show, is a son of Retties JFK and sold for €3,400.
Cappanavarnogue Norris from the herd of Michael Moloney, Kildysart, Co Clare, secured a bid of €2,900. The 12-month-old bull’s pedigree features Birches Littleman, Threeburnfort Leader and Bor Nugget.
Thomas Liston realised €2,900 for their bull Cooltomin New Carter. This bull was a son of Friarstown Dan Carter while the dam is sired by Anyho Rossiter Eric.
