Corrandulla Agricultural Show attracts just over 10,000 people to its small village in Co Galway every year.
It is a wonderful example of a country show, with a range of attractions and entertainment.
This year’s show took place on Sunday 22 June. One of the big attractions this year was the €1,000 Nutrias baby beef competition, bringing exhibitors from as far as Donegal.
Winning the overall commercial champion of the show was Kevin Devine with his Ballinloan Jaegerbomb-sired heifer Ruby, which was bred in Co Cork by Daniel O’Donovan.
In reserve was another Limousin-cross heifer, exhibited by Jack and Declan O’Meara. This terrific young heifer calf is sired by Trueman Idol.
The overall pedigree champion of the show went to Limerick breeder Bobby O’Connell for his Charolais heifer which won the overall Charolais championship earlier in the day.
Claiming the reserve pedigree interbreed championship was the overall Belgian Blue champion Castlecuffe Stacia, exhibited by Denis Foynes.
