This weekend will see the online timed auction from Lisduff Angus take centre stage through Ballyjamesduff Mart and MartEye. Owned by Leo and Anne McEnroe, who are based outside Virginia in Co Cavan, this year’s sale includes red and black Angus bulls and heifers.

A special feature of this year’s sale is the fact it includes not one, but two, overall national champions from Tullamore Show. Leading off the sale as lot one is the female and supreme national livestock show champion, Lisduff Lady Faye Z216. This two-year-old first-calver will be sold with her smart bull calf at foot, with both the cow and calf securing red rosettes at Virginia Show recently, before going on to win supreme champion Angus. She is sired by Liss Buster, who previously sired progeny to €15,200 and will also have a host of daughters and bulls in the sale.

Red bull

Also selling is this year’s overall male champion from Tullamore, Dairemor Red Tulip. This powerful six-year-old red Angus bull is sure to garner a lot of attention given his presence, show ring performance and page of stars.

The herd is a firm believer in selling stock that will go on and do for others what they can do for them. This was highlighted last year when a heifer purchased from Lisduff sold to an impressive €15,200 for the Mogeely herd.

In total, 51 lots will be offered for sale, of which 36 are heifers. These heifers range from freshly calved, autumn-calving, spring-calving, as well as yearling and weanling heifers. A further 15 lots of choice bulls will be offered with seven of these red. Included in the bulls is a full brother to the €15,000 Liss\Lisduff Century sale topper in 2025.

The Lisduff herd has been to the forefront of Angus breeding, collecting numerous accolades and top prices throughout the years. Built on solid cow families, only the best stock bulls and AI bulls are used to achieve the herds goals of easy calving, easy fleshing, growthy cattle that can finish off grass and maintain all the character the breed in famous for.
