Angus

Angus Classes were judged by Martin Regan from Co Roscommon. Champion went to Bernard Kerins, Carnaree, Ballymote, Co Sligo, with his two-year-old heifer Kerins Kemi sired by AYR. Kemi continued her winning ways to later become the Interbreed Champion of the Show. This followed on from her success in Ballina Show last week where she also won champion Angus.

Reserve Angus went to Anthony Scanlon, Carnaree, Ballymote, Co Sligo, with Owenmore Milly. This animal was sired by GJY.

Limousin

Limousin classes were judged by PJ Smith from Co Meath. Champion Limousin was won by Owen Hester, Meelickaduff, Castlerea, Co Roscommon, with his heifer Meelickaduff Honda sired by Wilodge Vantastic. She then went on to take Reserve Interbreed champion of the show. This is the second year in a row that the young Roscommon man and his heifer have claimed both these titles.

Reserve was won by Donie McKeon, Enniscrone, Co Sligo with his September born bull calf.

Simmental

Simmental classes were judged by Paul McArdele from Co Monaghan. Champion Simmental went to Paddy and Elaine Hennelly, Rosses Point, Co Sligo, with Seepa Aster sired by Milton Lord Tiffany and her March born calf Seepa Gem.

Reserve went to the Lisadelle herd of Kieran Mullarkey Rosses Point, Co Sligo, with his January heifer calf.

Charolais

Charolais classes were judged by PJ Smith. Brenden and Niall Canning from Creggconnell, Rosses Point, Co Sligo, won champion with Sagesse Jacinta, who was sired by Hermes.

Reserve Champion went to the Breaghny Hill Herd of Eamonn O Connor of Ballinfull, Co Sligo, with his January heifer calf sired by Excellent.

Interbreed pairs

The interbreed pairs class was also judged by PJ Smith. Taking first prize was Micheal Oliver Swinford, Co Mayo.

Second place went to Micheal and Owen Hester. Third place was won by Bernard Kerins Ballymote, Co Sligo.

Young handlers

The two young handler classes were judged by Martin Regan, Cloonfad, Co Roscommon. Both classes were hotly contested and there was tough competition amid the challenging weather conditions.

In the Under 12 section, Brian Philips of Gurteen, Co Sligo, took first place. Second place went to Daniel O’Connor, from Grange Co Sligo.

In the Under 16 section, first place was won by Owen Hester. Second place went to Saoirse Oliver, Swinford, Co Mayo.

Commercial

Commercial Champion went to Local Riverstown man Pauric Junks
