I see that former Department of Agriculture secretary general Aidan O’Driscoll has a new job. He’s been appointed as chair of the Irish Forum for International Agricultural Development.

I’m informed the forum is a grouping of a number of stakeholders, including Government departments, State bodies, development non-governmental organisations, academic institutions and the private sector.

“Its role is to share knowledge and best practice on sustainable agriculture and food/nutrition security in support of Ireland’s role in promoting agriculture for development in partner countries,” O’Driscoll told the masses on LinkedIn.

O’Driscoll has held a number of roles since he left Ag House, including a stint as secretary general of the Department of Justice, chair of the Commission on the Defence Forces, chair of Ornua and chair of the Commission of Generational Renewal on Farming.
