I see the Government is looking to do a deal with the devil (data centres), offering them discounted gas tariffs as compensation for possible gas supply disruptions during times of high demand.

Under the plan from the Commission for Regulation of Utilities, the centres will be afforded cheaper prices to keep all happy.

I wonder will the farmers who faced electricity supply disruption during last winter’s storms be afforded the same favour, or those who faced water supply issues this summer?

Perhaps the data centres could use a few more solar panels.
