Farmer and Monaghan senior football manager Seamus McEnaney has appeared on the most recent tax defaulters list and has been forced to pay Revenue €171,365 for under-declaration of income tax.

McEnaney has an address in Corvalley, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, and his occupation is listed as a company director and farmer.

One of the highest fines was issued to SDM Emerald Green Exports Ltd (now in liquidation), with an address in Castlehill, Castlerea, Co Roscommon. It was fined €793,573 for under-declaration of VAT.

Lodge tax returns

Some five farmers and one agricultural contractor were fined by Revenue for failing to lodge tax returns. The typical fine was €1,250.

One vet, Giovanni Marcarelli, with an address in The Cedars, Patrick Street, Portarlington, Co Offaly, was fined €1,250.

Green diesel

Four farmers were fined for being caught with green diesel. The typical fine was €2,500.

One farm shop owner and company director, Christopher Duffy, with an address in Fawnrevagh, Ardrahan, Co Galway, was also fined €2,500 for misuse of green diesel.
