Egypt – buying wheat

Mostakbal Misr, the state grain buyer, has bought 500,000 tonnes of wheat in recent days – 200,000 tonnes from Russia and the remainder from Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine.

China – strong pig supplies

In the first nine months of 2025, China has processed 529.2 million pigs, a year-on-year increase of 1.8% or 9.6m pigs

Switzerland – dairy support fund

An emergency fund to the value of €17m has been set up to fund the temporary storage of 2,000t of butter and cream plus other dairy based products pending market improvement.

Brazil – poultry ban lifted

Brazil has been cleared to resume poultry meat exports to China, with the ban imposed in May this year due to avian flu being lifted.
