There was a full auction room in the Glenroyal Hotel Maynooth, Co Kildare on Tuesday 11 November where Coonan Property successfully auctioned a circa 34ac non-residential holding.
The farm at Graiguepottle, Donadea was guided at €400,000.
Strong pre-sale interest in the land transformed into intent as it opened at the guide price.
Four bidders were very active – with bids flying in quick succession to €610,000. The property was then put on the market. A final flurry of bidding between two interested parties, saw the gavel drop at €650,000. This equates to €19,118/ac close to €7,500/ac over its guide price.
The purchaser was a local landowner.
Following the auction, Philip Byrne of Coonan Property commented that, “Again, today’s auction proved the strong demand for good land in good locations. All bidders today were local landowners with an appetite for more land.”
Suitable for any agricultural or equestrian use, the grassland property is laid out in five divisions and is in a convenient location just off the main R407 that connects Kilcock to Naas. It’s situated less than 10 minutes’ drive from the M4 motorway.
