Six young farmers from across Ireland have been announced as recipients of the Irish Country Meats 'Flocks of the Future' 2026 initiative.

Each young farmer will receive a mini-flock of one five-star ram and five breeding hoggets, valued at over €2,500.

The recipients will receive ongoing support throughout their journey from Irish Country Meats, Bord Bia, Teagasc and Sheep Ireland.

The six recipients selected for this initiative are Keva Keogh, Co Dublin; Grace Hoare, Co Offaly; Abigail Marley, Co Mayo; Dylan Gilligan, Co Leitrim; Patrick Moran, Co Kerry' and Mark Norse, Co Wicklow.

Managing director at Irish Country Meats Daniel Lyons said 'Flocks of the Future' will provide young farmers with access to quality genetics, expert advice and practical support as they develop their farming businesses.

Agri sustainability manager at ABP Stephen Connolly said: “The successful applicants represent the ambition, dedication and forward-thinking approach that will help shape the future of our industry.”
