Financial accounts for the Goodman Foundation – the UK-based charity chaired by Larry Goodman and funded through an endowment from Jersey-based ABP Food Group – showed assets at the end of March 2026 of £144.7m (€170.8m).
The foundation made charitable donations of £2.13m (€2.51m) during the financial year.
The foundation’s only income from donations for the 12 months to the end of March 2026 was a £9.5m (€10.9m) endowment donation from ABP Food Group.
There was also £4.7m (€5.54m) in income from investments and a change in value of investments held during the year of £6.7m (€7.9m) due to increases in the market value of shares and property revaluations.
The assets of the foundation were a mixture of cash, shares and property. Cash balance increased to £47.6m (€55m), while the value of properties increased to £36.4m (€43m), due to updated valuations of the foundation’s portfolio. Financial investments in shares were relatively unchanged at £59.7m (€70.5m).
The foundation’s property assets consist of investment properties valued at £5.6m (€6.6m), commercial property valued at £12m (€14.16m) and 1,363 acres of arable land valued at £18.7m (€22.1m).
The investment property and the arable land were revalued higher by a combined £3.3m (€3.9m) in the financial year.
During the year, the foundation purchased shares in Kerry Group, with the holding valued at £4.15m (€4.9m) at the end of March. Its largest individual company stake was in Nestlé, valued at £10.7m (€12.6m).
There was a significant drop in charitable spending in Ireland from the foundation, falling to £0.62m (€0.73m) from £2.3m (€2.7m) a year earlier.
The charity increased its spending on international causes, with £1.25m (€1.48m) of grants to Gaza, Myanmar and Afghanistan. Overall charitable donations decreased by $0.85m (€1m) to £2.13m (€2.5m).
The Goodman Foundation is based in the UK and is a regulated charity by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Under the rules of the commission, the foundation must make five years of annual accounts available on the commission’s website.
