USA – Renewable slowdown: The US Department of Agriculture will no longer support solar and wind projects on productive farmland. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the projects left “millions of acres of prime farmland unusable”.

Lithuania – rain damage: Heavy rainfall in Lithuania has harmed or destroyed 50% to 70% of the country’s agricultural harvest, according to country’s government as it declared a national emergency to help farmers.

Australia – harvest boost: Forecasts for Australia’s wheat harvest have been revised higher after rainfall across the country’s key growing regions in recent weeks. Previous estimates for a 30.6 million ton crop have been updated to 33 million tons.
