All of the co-op’s with the exception of Aurivo moved to increase milk price this month, reflecting some of the recent positivity in the international dairy markets.

Unsurprisingly though, it’s the four west Cork co-ops at the top of the league once again for July milk supplies. All four increased milk price for July with Drinagh and Lisavaird increasing slightly more. This is because they have moved to paying the SCC bonus payment in euro per kilo of milk solids. The bonus being paid was 0.5c/l ,but is now €0.065/kg MS.

Outside of division one, Boherbue has emerged as a new front-runner. The co-op increased base price by 13.4c/kg MS to help stake its claim for the ‘best of the rest title’ in July.

Kinisla had the biggest price increase of the month going up by 14.5c/kg MS. Tirlán and Centenary weren’t far behind at 13.3c/kg MS.

Unlike Kinisla that made the increase solely through base price, Tirlán and Centenary suppliers were the beneficiaries of a weather support payment for July.

The payment of 13.3c/kg MS ex VAT is being paid on June, July and August supplies. The June payment is being made to farmers in the July milk cheque, therefore cumulative year to date payment and cumulative ranking have been adjusted to reflect this. The adjustment means Tirlán have climbed to fifth place in the overall ranking. Aurivo suppliers are the only ones not to have seen a milk price increase for July milk. The co-op increased base price but cut the stabiltity payment by the same amount. The end result is no net change to milk price.

Dairygold kept themselves in division two this month, with an increase in base price of 6.6c/kg MS. It wasn’t a great month for Lakeland suppliers who remain in division three for July. The co-op announced an 11.8c/kg MS increase to base price earlier this month. However, last month they had been paying a top up on June milk which wasn’t continued for July.

The result of this change is a small increase of 4.9c/kg MS for July milk.

They have also dropped from ninth to 10th place in the cumulative rankings.

ArraTipp and North Cork remain in the bottom two spots of division three again this month with small increases to base price. The average of July payments made by all of the co-ops to a typical farmer equate to €27,786. That’s a total of €5,177 behind July 2025.

It was from August on in 2025 that dairy markets started to struggle and milk prices crashed as a result. Thankfully, the back end of this year looks more positive.
