New spot-spraying solution
CW Agri, a new name in the agri machinery sector, made its first appearance at Balmoral Show with the latest spot-spraying solution to arrive on Irish shores. The machine in question is the RumboJet 880 spot-sprayer, developed by German company, Allgau Automation. The trailed 8.8m spot sprayer has been designed and developed for the control of broad leaf weeds such as docks, ragwort, thistles and buttercups in grassland, offering the ability to identify and spray the targeted weeds in real time.
CW Agri has secured sole distribution for the RumboJet in both Irish and UK markets. The trailed solution comprises what looks like a typical sprayer tank and pump setup up front, behind which is the enclosed bat wing-style folding booms. Given the nature of the infrared camera sensing system, daylight needs to be minimised hence the red canopies. Underneath the canopies are six evenly placed cameras and a row of nozzles placed at 100mm spacings across the entire working width, offering complete individual nozzle control. Following the arrival of the first unit in September 2025, CW Agri claims that six machines are now working across Northern Ireland. Pricing for the machine is expected to be in the region of €60,000 plus VAT.
